Delaware State University is a historically black college located in Dover, Delaware with satellite campuses in Georgetown and Wilmington. The school was founded in 1890 as the State School for Colored Students, a land-grant college that taught mechanical and agricultural arts.Delaware State University's six colleges offer nearly 70 undergraduate degrees, two dozen graduate degrees, and several doctorates. Students come to this historically black college from dozens of countries around the world, and the International Studies program gives students the opportunity to study in Africa, South America, or Europe. The school has created more than 30 international partnerships to promote research and conference collaboration. Delaware State University students can participate on a number of winning men's and women's athletic teams. Students can also enjoy the university's proximity to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, DC, and New York City.
