About Florida Memorial College

Florida Memorial College is a small, private, historically black college that was founded in 1879. It is located in Miami Gardens, Florida, a town just outside Miami. In addition to close proximity to the cultural attractions of Miami there are options for sports fans--Miami Gables hosts the Miami Dolphins and Florida Marlins professional sports teams.

Florida Memorial College was originally called the Florida Baptist Institute, and it retains its ties to the Baptist Church today. There are approximately 40 undergraduate and four graduate degree programs offered. The college is divided into six schools: the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Aviation, School of Business, School of Education, School of Health and Natural Sciences, and the Graduate School.
