The Interdenominational Theological Center is a group of institutions including historically black theological colleges in Atlanta, Georgia. It began in 1958 with four charter members: the Morehouse School of Religion representing the Baptist faith, the Gammon Theological Seminary, affiliated with the United Methodist Church, the Turner Theological Seminary, an African Methodist Episcopal institution, and the Phillips School of Theology representing the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. These four seminaries were joined by two others in later years: the Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary for the Presbyterian Church, and the Charles H. Mason Theological Seminary for the Church of God in Christ.Students do not have to be one of these six faiths to join the Center. They can also enroll on an "at-large" basis. The International Theological Center offers both master's and doctoral degrees.
