About Shorter College

Founded in 1873, Shorter College is a historically black Christian college in Rome, Georgia. Shorter College awards degrees at the associate's, bachelor's, and master's levels. Shorter College is especially well-known for its vocal studies program, which has produced award-winning singers who have performed with many famous groups, from the New York Philharmonic to the Metropolitan Opera. Besides traditional degrees, Shorter College also offers a non-traditional professional studies program for working adults, which supplies coursework in business, management, education, and other areas.
