About North Carolina Central University

First established as a religious training school in 1910, North Carolina Central University has emerged as one of the strongest engineering schools in the southeastern United States. Rigorous recruitment and admissions policies put this historically black college on a par with some of the most prestigious schools in the region, such as Duke and UNC. The school's association with Durham's Research Triangle Park affords students the opportunity to work on leading edge research in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and physics.

While science and technology research plays a major role on the North Carolina Central University campus, the school's broad focus on liberal arts has cultivated an alumni community that includes thought leaders from a variety of disciplines. Prominent artists, athletes, and politicians proudly display NCC pride and encourage new generations of students to attend this historically black college.
