About Lane College

Lane College is a small, private, historically black college located in Jackson, Tennessee. It was founded in the late 19th century to help educate newly freed slaves and since its inception has been tied to the Methodist Episcopal Church. Today, Lane College offers bachelor's degrees in the areas of business, social and behavioral science, liberal studies and education, and natural and physical sciences.

Jackson is a small city in western Tennessee that is about 80 miles from Memphis and 125 from Nashville. It offers cultural and recreation opportunities for students that include numerous gold courses, a symphony orchestra, a farmers' market, a winery, and an arts center.
