About St Philips College

Founded in 1898 in San Antonio, Texas, St. Philips College started modestly, offering sewing classes to less than twenty pupils. Since then, St. Philips College has flourished, adding thousands of students and many academic specialties, from English to Automotive Technology to Nursing. Also, St. Philips has become a leading center for distance education, with various online, hybrid, and web-enhanced classes.

A historically black college, St. Philips College strives to accommodate San Antonio's ethnically diverse population with child development centers, learning disability programs, financial aid services, and international student services. Off campus, students may also enjoy San Antonio's vibrant urban culture, which features such attractions as the historic San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) and the varied clubs and restaurants on St. Mary's Strip.
